Poland Jewish Cemeteries Restoration Project

Since 2001 and under the leadership of Dr. Norman and Hannah Weinberg, over 60 Jewish cemeteries in Poland have been restored (out of more 1,200) in a most unique way combining the physical restoration of long neglected Jewish cemeteries ruined by Nazis and left in shamble during over 70 years of the Communist regimes across Eastern Europe. Every Jewish cemetery restoration project includes the local school, were the students actively participate in the projects to include lessons on Jewish and Holocaust history as it relate to their town, Essay writing contest and participation in the actual restoration and re-dedication of their town’s Jewish cemetery. Since its founding in 2008, The Foundation for Holocaust Education Projects is an integral part the Polish Jewish Cemeteries Restoration Projects, producing most of its education projects throughout the USA and Poland.
